Description
Product Overview
The Calprotectin Test Kit is a fluorescence immunoassay designed for quantitative determination of fecal calprotectin in human stool specimens. Calprotectin is a protein released by neutrophils and monocytes during intestinal inflammation and serves as an important biomarker for gastrointestinal inflammatory disorders. Measurement of fecal calprotectin helps clinicians differentiate inflammatory bowel diseases from functional gastrointestinal conditions and evaluate disease activity.
Intended Use
For in vitro quantitative determination of calprotectin in human fecal samples. The test is used as an aid in diagnosis and monitoring of inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
Clinical Significance
Differentiates inflammatory bowel disease from irritable bowel syndrome. Assesses disease severity and mucosal inflammation. Monitors treatment response and risk of relapse.
Test Principle
Sandwich fluorescence immunoassay where labelled monoclonal antibodies bind to calprotectin forming complexes detected by the analyzer.
