Description
Product Overview
The NT-proBNP Test Kit is designed for quantitative determination of N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) in human whole blood, serum or plasma using fluorescence immunoassay technology. NT-proBNP is a cardiac biomarker released by ventricular myocardium in response to increased cardiac wall stress.
Measurement of NT-proBNP levels helps clinicians diagnose heart failure, assess severity of cardiac dysfunction and monitor therapeutic response in patients with cardiovascular diseases.
Clinical Significance
NT-proBNP is released into circulation when ventricular myocardium experiences increased pressure or volume overload. Elevated NT-proBNP levels are associated with heart failure and other cardiac disorders.
Measurement of NT-proBNP is useful for:
• Diagnosis of congestive heart failure
• Differentiation of cardiac and non-cardiac dyspnea
• Risk stratification in cardiac patients
• Monitoring treatment response in heart failure patients
Key Features
• Quantitative fluorescence immunoassay
• High sensitivity detection of NT-proBNP
• Rapid results within minutes
• Compatible with immunofluorescence analyzers
• Suitable for hospital laboratories and emergency departments
Sample Type
Whole blood
Serum
Plasma
Test Time
Approximately 15 minutes
Compatible Analyzers
Compatible with fluorescence immunoassay analyzers including GETEIN 1100, GETEIN 1160 and FIA 8000 analyzers.
Principle of the Test
The NT-proBNP Test Kit is based on fluorescence immunoassay technology. The sample reacts with fluorescence labeled antibodies specific to NT-proBNP. The fluorescence signal generated is measured by the immunofluorescence analyzer and is proportional to the concentration of NT-proBNP present in the sample.
Applications
This product can be effectively utilized in:
• Emergency departments
• Hospital laboratories
• Intensive care units
• Point-of-care testing centers
Intended Use
The NT-proBNP Test Kit is intended for in vitro diagnostic use for quantitative determination of NT-proBNP in human whole blood, serum or plasma using fluorescence immunoassay analyzers in clinical laboratories and hospital settings.
Related Tests
Related cardiac marker tests include Troponin I Test Kit, CK-MB Test Kit and D-Dimer Test Kit used in hospital emergency diagnostics.
