Description
Product Overview
The IL-6 (Interleukin-6) Test Kit is designed for quantitative determination of interleukin-6 in human whole blood, serum or plasma using fluorescence immunoassay technology. Interleukin-6 is a pro-inflammatory cytokine produced by immune cells in response to infection, inflammation and tissue injury.
Measurement of IL-6 levels assists clinicians in evaluating inflammatory response, diagnosing infections and monitoring immune system activation in critically ill patients.
Clinical Significance
Interleukin-6 plays a key role in inflammatory and immune responses. Elevated IL-6 levels are associated with various infectious and inflammatory diseases.
Measurement of IL-6 is useful for:
• Detection of systemic inflammation
• Early diagnosis of sepsis
• Monitoring cytokine storm conditions
• Evaluation of autoimmune diseases
• Monitoring inflammatory disorders
Key Features
• Quantitative fluorescence immunoassay
• High sensitivity detection of IL-6
• Rapid results within minutes
• Suitable for hospital laboratories and intensive care units
• Compatible with immunofluorescence analyzers
Sample Type
Whole blood
Serum
Plasma
Test Time
Approximately 15 minutes
Compatible Analyzers
Compatible with fluorescence immunoassay analyzers including GETEIN 1100, GETEIN 1160 and FIA 8000 analyzers.
Principle of the Test
The IL-6 Test Kit is based on fluorescence immunoassay technology. The sample reacts with fluorescence labeled antibodies specific to interleukin-6. The fluorescence signal generated is measured by the immunofluorescence analyzer and is proportional to the concentration of IL-6 present in the sample.
Applications
This product can be effectively utilized in:
• Hospital laboratories
• Intensive care units
• Infection and inflammation diagnosis
• Monitoring cytokine response
• Point-of-care testing centers
Intended Use
The IL-6 Test Kit is intended for in vitro diagnostic use for quantitative determination of interleukin-6 in human whole blood, serum or plasma using fluorescence immunoassay analyzers in clinical laboratories and hospital settings.
Related Tests
Related infection and inflammatory biomarker tests include Procalcitonin Test Kit, CRP Test Kit and hs-CRP Test Kit used in hospital diagnostic laboratories.
